Make a weakness a strength

You may be like one of my other clients too busy to write many articles for your website. Or maybe you feel you are not a writer and can’t write very much.

Why not turn that “perceived” weakness into a strength?

How?

Make a weakness a strength

Easy – you are not alone in how starved you are for time, so use that to your advantage;

1)      Write short articles that deliver one good idea

2)      Get to the point quickly

3)      Make it an easy read but a good one

Your readers will thank you. Why? Because they will get more value in less time.

Two way conversation with the customer

Here is a simple and very effective method for gaining insight into your customers thinking – ask them. Ok so before you think I am being rather obvious consider this – are you asking them what they think as often as you can?

For example when you collect names and email addresses on your website of people who are interested in your business and products do you also ask them what they think? Are you asking vague questions or are you asking questions that matter to them and to you?

If you not, here are 4 things you can do to change that.

Blogging on Auto-Pilot

Blogging can be done on autopilot if you know a few simple techniques. The first technique, The Brochure Blog, is so simple and effective as it uses what you already know and have developed as a starting point. It works for any product in any market

With a previous client I showed them the Brochure Blog Technique and it transformed their communication with their customer.

Their blog was a random collection of after thoughts by the salesman (they only had one). He wrote about whatever came to mind that day or not. After a few months he was posting less than once a week saying “I got nothing to say”.

Planning your Blog

Here is a simple way to plan your blog. While there are many this one is quick and easy when you are just starting out.

Step 1
Write down a list of topics that you want the customer to know. Try to write down as many as you can but start with 20 or 30.

Step 2
Write 3 paragraphs about each topic. In the first paragraph write why it is important to your customer. In the second paragraph explain the topic in brief detail. In the third paragraph explain how they can benefit from it. Make it relevant to them and your blog will be more valuable and thus read more often.

Step 3
